Both the intermediate and advanced options are well marked and clearly signed trails, but will traverse some remote terrain which adds to the commitment needed in order to consider these services. OVERVIEW

Riders will be delivered to the Brown’s Ranch trail head of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, where, after a briefing on route choices from AOA staff, a rolling cross country exploration of desert trails begins, eventually descending over 1000 feet in elevation as the group connects the trails of the Preserve to the trails of the renowned McDowell Mountain Regional Park. There are numerous trail choices and options to consider before arriving for the return shuttle, but this route includes a minimum of 14 miles of riding on intermediate desert single track.

Duration: 2 – 4.5 hours of riding, 2 – 7 hours door to door

Shuttle Time: 30 minutes from AOA to ride start, 45 minutes from ride end to AOA

Season: Year-round

Advanced

OVERVIEW

This advanced power grind begins at McDowell Mountain Regional Park and links a series of trails, including parts of the famous Pemberton and the rocky Windmill before cresting the ridge of the McDowell Mountains as the trail enters the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, climbing a minimum of 1300 relentless feet. With a spectacular view of Scottsdale and the promise of refreshments beckoning, adventure seekers will begin a challenging, technical descent that demands a focused eye and a nimble response to sudden terrain variations. There are options to make this sufferfest more extreme, but expect a minimum of 14 miles of intense and often chunky riding.

Duration: 2 – 4.5 hours of riding, 3 – 6 hours door to door

Shuttle Time: 45 minutes from AOA to ride start, ride ends at AOA (2.5 miles of paved road).

Season: Year-round

Reservation Policies

Advance reservations are required and can only be confirmed with receipt of guest contact information and a valid credit card. Final payment is due in advance of the tour to secure your reservation.

There is no charge for cancellations made more than 48 hours before departure time. Cancellations made less than 48 hours from departure time are non-refundable.
