Destinations we travel to

AOA’s roots run deep in Arizona, but over the last two decades our trip offerings have expanded to include adventures in most of the western United States! Our guides are experts in hiking, backpacking, biking, and enjoying more than 30 national parks, monuments, forests, state parks, mountain ranges, wilderness areas, and more. Join us in exploring the backcountry of the American West on a guided trip with AOA.

“The Grand Canyon State” is AOA’s backyard and outdoor playground. Our headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona are the launching point for trips across this beautiful southwest state. These include operating single-day rafting and kayaking tours on the lower Salt River outside Phoenix in partnership with our sister company Desert Voyagers. Join us on a guided trip or rent a bike from our bike rental shop. Come see Arizona with us.

For some early settlers of the American West, Utah was the promised land. To many outdoor lovers, it still is. Mountains, canyons, and deserts call out to be hiked, backpacked, and biked through. Enjoy camping at Zion National Park, staying at Bryce Canyon’s historic lodge on a guided trip with AOA, or get extra adventurous and join a backpacking trip down the Escalante River, the last mapped river in the continental US.
